AC/DC has finished recording its new studio effort and is now mixing the album with plans to release it in late 2008. Lead singer Brian Johnson broke that news in an interview with a Washington D.C. radio station on Tuesday (April 22nd), adding that guitarist Angus and Malcolm Young were still at the studio in Vancouver, Canada to supervise the mix with producers Brendan O'Brien and Mike Fraser. Johnson also said in the interview that the band will tour in support of the disc. The veteran Australian hard rock act entered the studio on March 1st to begin work on its first album since 2000's Stiff Upper Lip. O'Brien is known for his work with Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Bruce Springsteen and Velvet Revolver, among others. Rumors that AC/DC's next tour will be a "farewell" trek have been circulating for weeks, although the band has yet to make an official announcement. ![]() SPRINGSTEEN AND BAND PAY TRIBUTE TO DANNY FEDERICI IN CONCERT
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE STREET BAND PAY TRIBUTE TO DANNY FEDERICI IN CONCERT Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band took the stage last night in (April 22nd) Tampa, Florida and throughout the night paid tribute to their late keyboardist and cofounder Danny Federici. Federici died last week after a three year battle with melanoma. According to several fan reports prior to the band taking the stage a video tribute to Federici was shown over the 1995 studio track of "Blood Brothers" which has come to be known as Springsteen's emotional statement on his personal relationship with the band. Springsteen and the E Street Band -- including Patti Scialfa who has been absent from this leg of the tour to stay home with the Springsteen's kids -- then took the stage without Federici current replacement Charlie Giordano for an emotional version of Springsteen's 1975 classic "Backstreets." Giordano joined the band after the first number. Throughout the night several numbers popped up that symbolized the E Street Band's commitment to their past, their audience and each other, including "No Surrender," "Atlantic City," and the rarely played "Growin' Up," and "Racing In The Street." After performing Federici's signature piece "4th Of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)" Springsteen, who was visibly crying, walked over to pianist Roy Bittan and kissed him. The band performed the gospel spiritual "I'll Fly Away" for Federici as the show's first encore with only Springsteen, Garry Tallent on Bass, Max Weinberg on tambourine, and Bittan on Federici's first instrument, the accordion. The encores also featured such E Street powerhouses as "Rosalita," and "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out." Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band perform tonight in Orlando, Florida at the Amway Arena. ![]() JETHRO TULL TO RELEASE LIVE DVD -
Jethro Tull will release a new DVD on May 20th. The set, titled Jack In The Green: Live In Germany, features in-concert rarities spanning the years 1970 to 1993. Some of the concert performances include the band's hits, such as "Bungle in the Jungle" and "Thick as a Brick." The release comes as Jethro Tull celebrates its 40th anniversary with a collectors' CD and tour. Jethro Tull will also soon release a two-disc version of its 1968 debut album, This Was, featuring a stereo version of the original mono mix, along with nine bonus tracks, including recordings for John Peel's BBC Radio program, plus four rare 1968 UK singles: "Sunshine Day," "Song For John Gee," "Love Story," and "Christmas Song." ![]() ![]() In February of 2005, Dan went to Colorado for a few weeks to supervise some ranch business and to do some work in the studio. I stayed in Maine to oversee the final construction phase of our Maine house. It was hard for us to be so far apart for so long, especially since we would miss Valentine's Day together. On the afternoon of the 14th, the florist delivered a dozen long-stemmed red roses; FedEx delivered a CD labled "Sometimes A Song - for Jeanie - Valentine's Day 2005". "Sometimes A Song" is available for digital download at iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and WalMart.com. 100% of proceeds from all digital sales will be donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Thanks for all of your support, encouragement, and condolences. ~ Jean Fogelberg | Music Videos | | Return Home | FAQ Page | Contact Us | Our Friends | Inportant Information | Music News For 2008 | I Like Tunes | |
